Chennai Social Service - Waste Food Management Initiation

An Initiative by Chennai Social Service

According to Corporation of Chennai Every Day the Garbage's are filled with close to 40.25% of Food and food Materials. And this constitutes: Food Waste up to 8%, Green Waste up to 32.25%.
Which made CSS think, in one end lot of animals and birds are dying because of food. And the other end the food is dumped in the garbage’s. The main reason for this is throwing the food in the plastic covers and disposing it in the garbage’s. We thought if we can convert atleast 2 to 3 % of the food to feed the animals around they can survive a little long than usual.
So the project comprises of giving awareness to hotels, restaurants and resident not to throw any form of food in the garbage, and convincing them to be a part of the WASTE FOOD INITIATIVE. In turn they can feed the dogs, cats and other birds around. Or if there is any food which is left as waste during marriages or in the hotels, If they call us we will collect and serve the animals the next day joinging hands with Blue cross of India either in the BCI shelter or any animals around us.
Many species in this world are already in its extinction we don’t want our domestic animals and birds around us to be a part of this list. Already we have lost Sparrows, parrots, cookoo’s, and other creatures from the cities. Let’s not extinguish even dogs, cats and cows to crows and pigeons. It’s time to react at least now, to give your hands to save the planet Earth and its species. Lets not make earth a place only for humans....

But its their world too...
